The County Academy Programme Talent Day was held at Millers Barn Golf Club last Sunday, with 37 young aspiring girls from all over the county testing their skills on 6 specific stations.

A great team effort from Past Captain Peter Cross, Hon Secretary David Wallbank, Junior Organiser Lorraine Doy and the team of PGA Pros headed up by David March and Steve Cardy (all pictured) ensured that Regiment Way is now nationally recognised as a safe and beginner friendly facility and can now be considered as a centre of excellence in Essex for all golfers.

Congratulations to four Clacton-on-Sea juniors, each qualifying through to the National Finals of the National Skills Challenge at Woodhall Spa on 10th September. Orsett Golf Club proudly acccepts their GolfMark Award from County Development Officer, Helen Tarttelin. "Orsett, a traditional club, has worked hard to achieve this nationally recognised accreditation and is now the 20th club in Essex to do so. Their budding cadet membership is reaping the rewards, thanks to the enthusiasm of Club Director and Junior Organiser, Mark Wright" said Helen.
