As a result of the two official National Challenge Events held at Three Rivers Golf & Country Club between April and July three junior members finished in the top 3 in Essex within their age category and will progress to the South East Regional Final on the 3rd August at Chesfield Downs.Right Jordan Minot and left Tom Shuttelwood shown. Holly Robinson also qualified in the rookie group.

The North West Essex Schools Partnership held the finals of its Tri-Golf coaching program at Braintree College on 30th June. The program, sponsored by The Golf Foundation, introduces young boys and girls from local primary schools to golf using youngster-friendly equipment designed specifically for that purpose.

Stoke by Nayland will host a European Challenge Tour event, The English Challenge on
Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 July. The Essex Golf Partnership with the team of PGA Professionals at the club will be offering a series free taster sessions and shortgame clinics for everyone - juniors, adults and disabled people. Come along have a go and watch our budding professionals in action on the course.

The Essex Golf Partnership is taking it's inflatable golf net to the Tendring Show on Saturday 10 July. All beginners welcome and first class coaching will be provided PGA Professionals Tom Hide and Scott Rusbridge. Come and have a go...it's free. We'll also have information and offers for local clubs and courses, should you feel inspired by your experience to have another go.

Colne Valley Golf Club, one of the first clubs in the county to receive the Golf Mark Accreditation has recently been awarded a "High Achiever" accreditation.
Colne Valley has worked hard over the last three years to continually improve their club for juniors and beginners. Already worthy of an Accreditation in 2006, Colne Valley has since improved their facilities and practices to enhance the playing and learning experiences for their juniors.

Channels Golf Club, Little Waltham, near Chelmsford has recently been awarded GolfMark. Channels Golf Club is proud to be only the 5th club in Essex to achieve the coveted 'GolfMark' Certification from the English Golf Union/ English Women's Golf Association.

Rochford Hundred Free Family Open afternoon, that took place on 18th April was attended by c. 70 people. Such was the success of the day, another is planned for later in the year.
